CHRISTOPHER THOMAS: We are saddened at the loss of one of our most passionate and active Summit for Soldiers team members. Major Thomas served in the US Army and deployed 3 times, earning 4 Bronze Stars and the Distinguished Service Medal. Chris Thomas retuned home and embraced climbing and mountaineering as a means to not only reclaim his own life, but as a professional guide he carried forward on the mission to reach out to other veterans. His passion, dedication and friendship is what inspired our new "Adven-therapy" program. He died doing what he loved, climbing in the outdoors. Chris, we won't let you down... we love you brother.
For those visiting to make a donation in lieu of flowers, please follow the DONATE link (click here to send a check) Please make a note/comment that it is "in Memory of Chris Thomas" so we can keep these funds separate from our general donations. |

The "Summit for Soldiers" PTS/Suicide Awareness Campaign is the "self-funded" efforts of our group of veterans, service-members, families, adventurers and citizens. We utilize mountaineering as our parallel to the struggles a veteran faces when living with Post Traumatic Stress and Traumatic Brain Injuries. The Veteran founders of this "Mission" personally know and understand these difficulties of living with their "Silent Wounds" and the Mountains became their therapy. Together, we are on a Mission to bring attention to PTS/TBI and the epidemic Suicide Rate of over 8000 veterans a year, to discover and share the resources that are available, and to set an example that will Encourage others to reach out, seek treatment, and reclaim their lives.
